Grant, Harrison, and Pendleton Counties ... a place in time and an area unto itself
This web-site is a unique opportunity for me. Not only am I able to demonstrate many things about my family history, but it also permits me to show examples related to one of my business services I offer via a company called GemLink.
After several years of working on my family history, I discovered there were talents, techniques and tools that I possessed which are not so readily available to others.
Because I am involved in the Bucking Bull industry as one of the owners of SEBRA (Southern Extreme Bull Riding Association), I travel a lot for the events scattered across many states. I have the opportunity to “stop by a court-house” here and there, and to dig through old records searching for birth/marriage/death certificates, for wills, for land transactions and etc.
Not only can I do this for myself, I can do it for others. Many people would like travel to a state several hundred miles away, and do their research in the old files. Cost & time are quite often factors that prevent this from happening.
By virtue of many trips, many miles, many states ... I have an opportunity few others ever get ... and I can use this ability for both my own family research and for others. My fees are small because I group the work, do it when I am there, and “kill two birds with one stone” by doing research & Bull work on the same trip.
This web-site has examples of some of my work and not all directed just to “my family”. I have extended it to cover a community because many people other than family contribute to make a more complete history for any family. My purpose is to also demonstrate some of the services I can provide for others through the Historic Research part of GemLink.
